This morning I noticed that the acorns are no longer in the street. Instead yellowed, red, green and brown leaves are lining up in their places along either side of the road. The squirrels have been working overtime digging holes and stashing the acorns the car tires were not smashing onto the pavement. When we walk our collie Blue we have to examine her every time we bring her inside - 3 days in a row we have found a tick on her face. The ticks hang around on the leaves waiting for something, anything to come by. I love this time of year.

Changing Colors
The seasons have changed -- Autumn brings amazing colors to my neighborhood -- It starts slowly then everythig changes at once. I felt like weeping with wonder this afternoon as vibrant colors danced around me. Acorns fall from the oaks landing in the middle of the road. At first there was a fury of them in September. Neighbors carefully maneuvered around them as we enjoyed the lingering Indian Summer's warmth. Several of us twisted our ankles this season. I walked down the street on September 26th, lost my balance and nearly fell.
