"I hear talking and I'm quite surprised. We need quiet we must realize.
we have time each day to run and play..
don't get too gay - don't go astray....When it's noisy we get nothing done --"
My Vinnie just got home from a mini-reunion of his elementary school friends who graduated from Norwalk High School in 1969. I've been thinking about my own elementary school experiences all evening and wondering where the familiar/forgotten faces ended up in life.
I was in Mrs. Sheets' 2nd Grade Class at Saugatuck Elementary School -- in 1960 when this photo was taken. I only recall a few of the names of my classmates here--but if I were to hear their names called off, especially in alphabetical order, I'd be able to identify every face right away. Mrs. Sheets ran a tight ship as I can recall. We learned the vowels through a song - and she would break out into a song if we were talking out of turn--singing the above words until the entire class joined in singing. She had a wonderful way of getting us back on task. I enjoyed Mrs. Sheets and I was lucky to be in her class. By the way, I am the girl with ringlet curls standing in the middle of the back row. Smile!
